The Local Flavor

You’ve just finished a fantastic tour with one of the incredible T3 guides. Its been a busy day and you’re feeling a little hungry. So where do you go for food around UNCW? Fast food perhaps? Maybe a chain restaurant? You’d like to try something local but where should you go? Have no fear- I’m here to tell you.
There are a number of incredible hole in the wall restaurants near campus to go to, so there’s no need to venture downtown unless you want to. A local favorite is Island’s which is a southwestern/Mexican restaurant. The quality of the food is excellent, and if you’re eating on a budget this is definitely the place for you ($2 tacos)! Feeling like something a little more exotic? The sushi at Okami is fantastic and rolls are half price before 7 pm. Maybe you want to go to a unique restaurant? Then Flaming Amy’s Bowls is a must. You build your own bowl of stir-fry, picking from a variety of meats and toppings and sauces. They then grill it up right in front of you with your choice of rice or noodles. Looking for a good sandwich? Look no further than South College Deli. Their Beef on Weck French dip is hands down one of the greatest sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. Then of course there’s always
P.T.’s Grill, which is a local chain with everything from BLT’s to burgers. They even have a food truck that comes to campus on alternating weekdays.

When you come to campus, make sure you give one of these places a shot. You won’t regret it!
